Accident/Incident Investigations - 4 Hours

When an accident happens in the workplace, a thorough and complete accident investigation must be conducted in order to prevent similar mishaps in the future, and to comply with legal and policy standards. The supervisors or team leaders are the most likely to be called upon to investigate any accident that occurs in your work area.

Aerial Lift Operator - 6-8 Hours
This course applies to elevating work platforms and vehicle mounted or self-propelled aerial devices which are used to position personnel, along with their tools and necessary materials, to work locations. The goal of this class is to increase the operator’s awareness about the capabilities, limitations, safe operating procedures, engineering principles and Cal/Fed OSHA Regulations regarding elevating work platforms and aerial devices. Hands-on exercises are stressed and evaluations are performed.

Animal Bite Safety - 2 Hours
There are millions of animal bites in the United States alone each year. Animal bites are common and can cause significant pain and other problems, especially when infection comes into play. This program will make you aware of the potential harm that may result in bites and help you take preemptive steps to avoid them.

Asbestos - Various Levels/Hours
Levels of training vary from Basic Awareness to Competent Person. They include Abatement Worker, Competent Person, Building Inspector, Management Planner, Project Designer, Class 2 and Class 3. 

Automated External Defibrillation (AED) Including CPR/First Aid Training - 6 Hours
This course includes specific training on Automated External Defibrillation (AED) methods and includes a CPR First Aid Course. AED courses are available from MEDIC FIRST AID and American Heart Association featuring specific AED’s and designed for use in specific industries. This course uses video scenarios, in-class instructor demonstrations and hands-on student practice.

Back Injury Prevention - 2 Hour
The goal of this program is to increase the awareness of the importance of practicing proper lifting techniques on a daily basis. Most back injuries are caused by chronic exposure…that means we need to correct bad habits before they cause injury! This course will explain safe lifting techniques and ways to prevent back strains and injuries. The result will be more awareness of how to lift, sit, stand, and otherwise reduce the potential for back injury and greater use of correct techniques and postures.

Backhoe/Loader Operator - 8 Hours
This program will review the safety aspects of backhoe/loader equipment. Although many workers have previous experience operating a backhoe/loader, many serious accidents occur every year involving this equipment. These accidents are primarily caused by the lack of emphasis on the safety aspects of the equipment.

Bloodborne Pathogens - 2 Hours
In 1992, The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) created regulations to help protect employees from diseases spread by blood in the workplace. This course provides an overview of the regulation and training as required by the rule.

CPR/First Aid - 4 Hours
Training Requirements: Fed-OSHA: 1910.146(k)(2)(iii)1910.269(b)(1)(i)1910.151(b). Cal-OSHA: T8 CCR 3400(b).
This course consists of Circles of Care Concept, SETUP and Barriers, Initial Assessment, Rescue Breathing, One Rescuer CPR, Airway Obstruction (Choking), Control of Bleeding, Managing Shock, Ongoing Assessment, Warning Signs of Medical Illness, Breathing Difficulty, Chest Pain, Abdominal Pain, Levels of Responsiveness, Mechanism of Injury, Head, Neck and Back, Strains, Sprains and Fractures, Moving Patients. This course emphasizes emergency care skills, which allows the lay person rescuer to function with a consistent set of priorities to identify and manage life-threatening emergencies. Students learn the same priorities of care used by professional emergency care providers. MEDIC FIRST AID and American Heart Association providers.

CPR/First Aid/AED - 6 Hours

If you're looking at getting everything done in one shot then this is the course for you! This course is exclusively from MEDIC FIRST AID. This course also uses video scenarios, in-class instructor demonstrations and hands-on student practice.

Compressed Gases/Cylinders - 2 Hours
This program is designed to assure that employees handling compressed gases are adequately trained in the inherent hazards of the cylinders and their contents, as well as proper handling, storage, and use according to OSHA requirements.

Confined Space Awareness - 2 Hours
The goal of this course is to train the students to work safely around confined space areas. This awareness class is designed for employees whose job DOES NOT require confined space entry but who are exposed to confined spaces and must be aware of the hazards.

Confined Space Entry - 4-8 Hours
The goal of this course is to comprehensively address in detail, in both theory and practical exercises, the vital knowledge necessary to participate in confined space entry operations safely. Student completion meets the training requirements specified under Title 8 CCR Section 5157 for entrant, attendant and entry supervisor.

Confined Space Rescue - 16 Hours (Prerequisite: CSE)
This course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to perform rescues from confined spaces and assisted emergency services. The class will familiarize students with the hazards of these spaces and their mitigation prior to entry. Students will learn equipment needed to perform various horizontal and vertical rescues. An overview of possible rescue situations and a systematic approach to a rescue will be covered. Safety will be stressed as a priority. Students will be given opportunities to practice their skills and apply their knowledge to a variety of rescue drills and scenarios.

Crane Operator - NCCCO Mobile Crane Operator Certification Program - 6 Days (4-6 weeks prior notice required)
This course is designed for mobile cranes that have a 15,000 lb or more load capacity and/or 25 foot boom length or higher. We follow the NCCCO guidelines for this training. The program consists of a 3 day Written Exam prep training, 1 day Written Exam, 1 day Practice with practical examiner and 1 day for the Practical Examinations.

Crane Operator - Overhead Crane and Rigging - 8 Hours
This program is designed for cranes that have less than a 15,000 lb load capacity and/or 25 foot boom length or lower. These are the only two exempt rules of the NCCCO standard. We teach the student to identify the various types of rigging equipment and safe rigging practices. Upon completion of the class the student will have a basic understanding of the fundamentals of rigging and will be able to identify potential safety problems. Topics covered will be rigging inspection, estimating load weight, determining center of gravity, basic knots, hitch configurations, sling angle factor, and applicable regulations.

Defensive Driver - 4 Hours
This class is specifically designed for the auto, van and small truck. The purpose of this training course is to increase the vehicle operator’s awareness of the importance of safe driving principles and practices. Classroom training only. No hands-on driving exercises. Customization of the course content by instructor is required and is necessary to successfully conduct this class to meet the client’s specific needs.

DOT Hazardous Materials Transportation or Waste Management Training - 4 Hours
The Federal Department of Transportation requires specialized training for employees who handle hazardous materials/waste. The goal of this function specific training is to thoroughly cover the aspects of safety and handling techniques in order to prevent disastrous accidents.

Drug–Free Workplace Awareness Training - Employee Level - 2 Hours
This comprehensive supervisor training is vital components of an overall drug-abuse prevention program, on a par with a written policy, drug testing, and employee assistance and treatment. Companies that combine drug testing with education programs have experienced a 26% lower “test positive” rate than companies who tested for drugs without a training program.

Electrical Safety Awareness - 2 Hour
Training Requirements: Fed-OSHA: 29 CFR 1910.331
The purpose of this basic level class is to familiarize employees with electrical safety processes and to establish and/or maintain safe working practices.

Employee Evacuation - 4 Hours
This program will communicate to all employees your facility's emergency plans. A facility wide evacuation drill will be conducted to evaluate the training and procedures. Review of your current Evacuation plan prior to training will be necessary. We include a walk-through and consultation with key personnel.

Ergonomics Safety - Manager/Supervisor Level - 2 Hours
The objective of this training program is designed to provide managers/supervisors with information regarding general concepts in ergonomics for the purpose of assisting them in the identification of workstations in need of ergonomic intervention. 

Ergonomics Safety - Employee Level - 2 Hour
The objective of this training program is designed to provide employees with a general awareness of ergonomics, to assist in minimizing exposure to Repetitive Motion Injuries (RMIs).he objective of this training program is designed to provide employees with a general awareness of ergonomics, to assist in minimizing exposure to Repetitive Motion Injuries (RMIs). Eye Protection - 2 Hour
The goal of this course is to ensure students understand the purpose and the importance of eye protection. Emphasis will be placed on the individual accountability of each employee.

Fall Protection Awareness Level - 4 Hours
The goal of this course is to inform the students of necessary safe work practices and regulations designed to prevent injuries and death, due to falls while working in elevated surfaces. Equipment review is conducted only. This class does not include hands-on exercises or evaluations.

Fall Protection Competent Person Level - 8 Hours
This course incorporates lecture and hands on scenarios applying theory to practical workplace situations. A large portion of the class dives into the inspection, maintenance and cleanliness of equipment, anchorage points, and fall arrest devices. This is a very active hands-on course which will require participants to utilize a wide range of fall protection equipment. Must be conducted on-site using client’s fall arrest equipment.

Fire Extinguisher Use - 1-2 Hours
The goal of this course is to ensure students understand when and when not to fight a fire, and how to properly address and extinguish the fire in a safe and expedient manner. Class can include live fire practice or target practice without live fire.

Fire Prevention and Extinguisher Use - 4 Hours
The goal of this course is to increase knowledge of fire hazards and fire prevention methods. Course will also educate students on when to and when not to fight a fire, and how to properly address and extinguish the fire in a safe and expedient manner. Course includes live fire or hands-on target practice without live fire.

Forklift Operator - 4-8 Hours
Training Requirements: Fed-OSHA: 29 CFR 1910.178(l)(1)(i). Cal-OSHA: T8 CCR 3668(a)(1).
The purpose of this class is to increase the forklift operator’s awareness about capabilities, limitations, engineering principals and Cal OSHA regulations regarding powered industrial trucks (PIT). Written exam and hands-on equipment evaluations are included.

Forklift Operator Train-the-Trainer Program - 8 Hours
The goal of the Instructor Training Program is to train and authorize selected individuals to implement and conduct your in-house Forklift Operator Program. Pre-requisite is prior forklift operator experience.

Four-Wheel Drive Vehicles/Equipment - Special Operations Course - 8-16 Hours 
This sixteen-hour course consists of six hours of lectures and ten hours of practical application on and off-road driving course. The lectures include off-road driving techniques, four-wheel drive systems, dynamics of winching, off-road tires and accessories, and vehicle dynamics. The practical application includes winching, performance driving, driving through streams, in sand, hill climbing, and over rough terrain. Each agency is required to furnish one four-wheel drive vehicle for each two students that attend.

Harassment Prevention - 2 Hours
The goal of this program is to help define harassment and give insight to new regulatory requirements and how they affect your employees, your managers and your organization as a whole.

Hazard Communication (HAZCOM) w/ Globally Harmonized System (GHS)  - 4 Hours
Training Requirements: Fed-OSHA: 29 CFR 1910.1200(b)(4)(iii). Cal-OSHA: T8 CCR 5194(b)(1).
New changes to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) Hazard Communication Standard are bringing the United States into alignment with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS), further improving safety and health protections for America's workers. Building on the success of OSHA's current Hazard Communication Standard, the GHS is expected to prevent injuries and illnesses, save lives and improve trade conditions for chemical manufacturers. The Hazard Communication Standard in 1983 gave the workers the ‘right to know,' but the new Globally Harmonized System gives workers the ‘right to understand.'

HAZMAT First Responder Awareness Level - 4 Hours
The goal of this course is to provide essential information for individuals who are likely to witness or discover a hazardous substance release and who have been trained to initiate an emergency response sequence by notifying the proper authorities.

HAZMAT First Responder Operations Level - 8 Hours
The goal of this program is to provide training for First Responders at the Operations Level who respond to releases or potential releases of hazardous substances for the purpose of stopping the release. Recommended that this course is only conducted on-site at the employer facility in order to properly facilitate response exercises. Company response plan must be reviewed by instructor prior to class.

HAZMAT Incident Commander - 8 Hours
This course is designed to provide participants with the skills and capabilities required to assume the role of Incident Commander during a hazardous materials event. Special emphasis placed on personnel safety and management of the Haz-Mat scene. Any public or private agency which has "scene management" responsibility must have this level of training under OSHA regulations.

HAZWOPER Annual Refresher - 8 Hours
The goal of this program is to provide refresher level training for any "Worker" level HAZWOPER training who has previously undergone the 24hr. Occasional Site Worker or 40hr. General Site Worker course.

HAZWOPER General Site Worker - 40 Hours
This course is required for site workers regularly on site engaged in hazardous substance removal or other activities which expose or potentially expose workers to hazardous substances and health hazards.

HAZWOPER Occasional Site Worker - 24 Hours
The goal of this course is to provide essential information to workers who are on an environmental site only occasionally for a specific limited task and who are unlikely to be exposed over published exposure limits.

HAZWOPER Spill Response Technician Level - 24 Hours
The goal of this course is to provide essential training to workers required to recognize emergencies involving hazardous materials and respond in a defensive role to contain and clean up a spill. Annual 8hr. refresher level training required. 

Hearing Conservation - 2 Hours
The goal of this program is to educate employees on the importance of following a Hearing Conservation program and the purpose of Audiometric Testing.

Heat Illness Prevention - 2 Hours
The goal of this program is to educate the student on the causes and prevention of heat related injuries and illnesses.

Heat Illness Prevention Train-the-Trainer - 4 Hours
The goal of this program is to train and authorize selected individuals to implement and conduct your in-house Heat Illness Prevention program.

Housekeeping Safety - 2 Hours
The goal of this program is to increase the awareness of the importance of good housekeeping procedures, and how good housekeeping can dramatically reduce environmentally related accidents and injuries.

IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations - 4 Hours
With the increasing volumes of Hazardous Materials, Hazardous Wastes being manufactured, generated, packaged and transported daily, combined with the challenge of trying to stay ahead of the often complex and ever-changing regulatory agency standards, it is more important than ever to meet today’s Mandatory Compliance Requirements through proper training.

IMDG Code - 4 Hours
The International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code is intended to provide for the safe transportation of dangerous goods by vessel and to prevent marine pollution. The code contains advice on terminology, emergency response, handling, labeling, markings, packaging, placarding, stowage, and segregation. 

Ladder Safety and Inspection - 2 Hours
The purpose of this class is to teach the student how to use the proper ladder and how to inspect ladders. This course also gives reference to Cal OSHA regulations regarding Title 8 CCR Sect. 33278, 3279 and ANSI A14.1, A14.2 and A14.5.

Laboratory Safety - 2 Hours
This program will assist in addressing specific hazards in the laboratory setting. Course highlights the principles of lab safety, reviews the basics of a chemical hygiene plan and includes lecture, video and written review.

Lawn Mower Safety Awareness - 4 Hours
The purpose of this class is to increase safety awareness for the Lawn Mower Operator’s regarding capabilities, limitations, engineering principals and CAL/OSHA Regulations regarding hand and portable powered tools and equipment. Written exam included.

Lead - Various Levels/Hours
Levels of training vary from Basic Awareness to Competent Person. They include Construction Worker, Supervisor/Project Manager, Building Inspector/Risk Assessor, and Worker Safety. 

Lockout/Blockout/Tagout - 4 Hours
The purpose of this class is to familiarize employees with the LOBOTO processes and to establish safe working practices. LOBOTO means that any energy source, whether electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, compressed air, or any other source that might cause unexpected movement, must be disengaged or blocked and electrical sources must be de-energized and locked or positively sealed in the OFF position.

Machine Guarding - 2 Hours
The purpose of this class is to teach the student proper procedures for safeguarding to avoid accidents and injuries.

Mold - Various Levels/Hours
Levels of training include Basic Awareness, Remediation for Supervisors and Remediation for Workers. 

NFPA 70E - 4 Hours
The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70E is a comprehensive standard that establishes best electrical safety practices standards on how to protect electricians from electric arc flash and arc blast exposure and resulting potential injury and death. OSHA has referenced this electrical safety standard in numerous cases. In fact, many organizations have now designed an NFPA 70E Compliance Guide to help protect their electrical personnel from the hazards associated with arc flash.

The focus of this TRAINER course is to prepare students to teach the 10 and 30 Hour Outreach classes. Thorough knowledge of OSHA General Industry Standards (CFR 1910) is required. You must take the OSHA 511 prior to taking this course and have 5 years of general industry safety experience. Upon successful course completion, students become authorized OSHA Trainers in the 10 and 30 Hour Outreach Programs. In conjunction with Cal State University, Dominguez Hills. OSHA 503 Update training is required every 4 years.  

OSHA 40 HOUR Trainer - Construction Industry
The focus of this TRAINER course is to prepare students to teach the 10 and 30 Hour Outreach classes. Thorough knowledge of OSHA Construction Industry Standards is required. You must take the OSHA 510 prior to taking this course and have 5 years of construction industry safety experience. Overhead Crane and Rigging - 8 Hours

Oxygen Enriched Environment Awareness - 2 Hours
Oxygen is essential to life. The air we breathe contains approximately 21% oxygen. Without oxygen we would die in a matter of minutes. We can breathe in a 50- 60% oxygen enriched atmosphere for several hours under medical care (Oxygen Therapy). It may be hard to believe but oxygen can be dangerous without knowing the associated hazards due to oxygen enriched environment. Every year several incidents are reported where workers have been injured by fire due to oxygen enriched clothing or atmosphere. Fires in these atmospheres start easily and are very intense, so people suffer very serious burns, which are often fatal.

Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) - 2 Hours
This course will review the necessity of using personal protective equipment in the workplace. OSHA requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to reduce employees' exposures to hazards when engineering and administrative controls are not feasible or effective in reducing hazard exposures to acceptable levels.

Power/Hand Tool Safety - 2 Hours
This program will make the students aware the obvious and not so obvious hazards of Powered Industrial Tools.

Respiratory Protection and Respirator Fit Testing - 4 Hours
The goal of this training is to emphasis the importance of the proper selection, use, sanitation and storage of respirators. Fit Testing procedures.
- Medical Clearance is required prior to fit testing. 
- Students must bring respirators to class for fit testing. 
- Students must be clean shaven prior to fit testing.

Respirator Fit Testing - 2-4 Hours
Training Requirements: Fed-OSHA: 29 CFR 1910.134 App A
Quantitative (PORTACOUNT) & Qualitative (BITREX) Fit Testing methods used.
Fit Testing procedures:
- Medical Clearance is required prior to fit testing. 
- Students must bring respirators to class for fit testing. 
- Students must be clean shaven prior to fit testing.
Average number of students per hour is 4. 

Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and Fit Testing
The goal of this course is to comprehensively address, in both theory and practical exercises the use of the self-contained breathing apparatus. Fit Testing requires the availability of an Air purifying Respirator with a face piece of identical design to the SCBA Face piece.
- Medical Clearance is required prior to fit testing. 
- Students must bring Air Purifying Respirators to class for fit testing. 
- Students must be clean shaven prior to fit testing.

Scaffolding - Various Levels/Hours

Our various scaffolding courses are designed to meet California Construction safety requirements. This training is conducted in affiliation with SAFWAY Scaffolding.

Storm Water Pollution Prevention Program - 8 Hours
Effective July 1, 2010, the New Permit SWRCB Order 2009-0009-DWQ adopted in September 2, 2009 will be
in effect! A Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) is required for all construction projects that disturb one acre or more of soil. This course is designed as an overview for the Superintendent Level employee. This course meets requirements for training issued by the Statewide General Storm Water Permit Associated with Construction Activities.

Traffic Control/Flagger - 4-8 Hours
The purpose of this course is to review the applicable California and Federal requirements for the safe planning, installation and removal of traffic controls for construction and maintenance work zones. Various levels of training are available. The WATCH manual is incorporated with the training.

Trenching, Shoring and Excavation Awareness Level - 2 Hours
The purpose of this training is to provide employees who occasionally work around trenches. This course is intended to provide an introduction to trench safety and the benefits of using trench protective systems.

Trenching, Shoring and Excavation Competent Person - 8-16 Hours
The purpose of this training is to provide employees with information about the OSHA Excavation Standard. NOTE: A COMPETENT PERSON is required on every trenching & excavation jobsite. This training is conducted in affiliation with TrenchPlate.

Water Distribution Operator State Exam Preparation Training - 8 Hours
Our 8 hour prep training will help prepare students for their CA DHS distribution operator exam. Grade levels D1-D4 are covered. (8) Eight contact hours earned at the completion of the training.

Water Treatment Operator State Exam Preparation Training - 8 Hours  
Our 8 hour prep training will help prepare students for their CA DHS treatment operator exam. Grade levels T1-T3 are covered. (8) Eight contact hours earned at the completion of the training.

Welding/Hot Work - 2 Hours
Employers are required to conduct and document training regardless of whether the welder has previously completed a trade apprentice program. The purpose of this program is to review the Hazards and Safe Work Practices of the welding program.

Workers' Compensation Claims Program - Supervisor Level - 3 Hours  
By the end of this program, the attendees will be able to discuss:
- The California Industrial Wage Orders are and where to find the most up-to-date copies on the Internet including wage and hour issues, straight time, overtime, call in pay, meal and rest breaks, final pay on termination, etc.
- FEHA (Harassment/Discrimination and Retaliation)
