This course applies to elevating work platforms and vehicle mounted or self-propelled aerial devices which are used to position personnel, along with their tools and necessary materials, to work locations. There are millions of animal bites in the United States alone each year. Animal bites are common and can cause significant pain and other problems, especially when infection comes into play. This program will make you aware of the potential harm that may result in bites and help you take preemptive steps to hopefully avoid them to begin with.

Back Injury Prevention Training Program - 1 Hour
The goal of this program is to increase the awareness of the importance of practicing proper lifting techniques on a daily basis. Most back injuries are caused by chronic exposure…that means we need to correct bad habits before they cause injury! This course will explain safe lifting techniques and ways to prevent back strains and injuries. The result will be more awareness of how to lift, sit, stand, and otherwise reduce the potential for back injury and greater use of correct techniques and postures.
Backhoe/Loader Operator Program - 8 Hours
This program will review the safety aspects of backhoe/loader equipment. Although many workers have previous experience operating a backhoe/loader, many serious accidents occur every year involving this equipment. These accidents are primarily caused by the lack of emphasis on the safety aspects of the equipment.
Bloodborne Pathogens - 1 Hour Awareness/2 Hour MEDIC FIRST AID Certification Program
In 1992, The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) created regulations to help protect employees from diseases spread by blood in the workplace. This course provides an overview of the regulation and training as required by the rule.
CPR/First Aid Training Program - 4 Hours
This course consists of Circles of Care Concept, SETUP and Barriers, Initial Assessment, Rescue Breathing, One Rescuer CPR, Airway Obstruction (Choking), Control of Bleeding, Managing Shock, Ongoing Assessment, Warning Signs of Medical Illness, Breathing Difficulty, Chest Pain, Abdominal Pain, Levels of Responsiveness, Mechanism of Injury, Head, Neck and Back, Strains, Sprains and Fractures, Moving Patients. This program is designed to assure that employees handling compressed gases are adequately trained in the inherent hazards of the cylinders and their contents, as well as proper handling, storage, and use according to OSHA requirements.
Confined Space Entry Training - 4-8 Hours
The goal of this course is to comprehensively address in detail, in both theory and practical exercises, the vital knowledge necessary to participate in confined space entry operations safely. This course is approximately 6 hours. Student completion meets the training requirements specified under Title 8 CCR Section 5157 for entrant, attendant and entry supervisor.
Confined Space Rescue - 16 Hours
This course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to perform rescues from confined spaces and assisted emergency services. The class will familiarize students with the hazards of these spaces and their mitigation prior to entry. Students will learn equipment needed to perform various horizontal and vertical rescues. An overview of possible rescue situations and a systematic approach to a rescue will be covered. Safety will be stressed as a priority. Students will be given opportunities to practice their skills and apply their knowledge to a variety of rescue drills and scenarios.
Crane Operator Certification Training Program
Defensive Driving Program - 4 Hours
This class is specifically designed for the auto, van and small truck. The purpose of this training course is to increase the vehicle operator’s awareness of the importance of safe driving principles and practices. Classroom training only. No hands-on driving exercises. Customization of the course content by instructor is required and is necessary to successfully conduct this class to meet the client’s specific needs.
D.O.T. Hazardous Materials or Waste Manifest Training - 4 Hours
The Federal Department of Transportation requires specialized training for employees who handle hazardous materials/waste. The goal of this function specific training is to thoroughly cover the aspects of safety and handling techniques in order to prevent disastrous accidents.

Fall Protection Competent Person Level Training - 8 Hours
This course incorporates lecture and hands on scenarios applying theory to practical workplace situations. A large portion of the class dives into the inspection, maintenance and cleanliness of equipment, anchorage points, and fall arrest devices. This is a very active hands-on course which will require participants to utilize a wide range of fall protection equipment. Must be conducted on-site using client’s fall arrest equipment.
Fire Prevention and Extinguisher Use Training - 4 Hours
The goal of this course is to increase knowledge of fire hazards and fire prevention methods. Course will also educate students on when to and when not to fight a fire, and how to properly address and extinguish the fire in a safe and expedient manner. Course includes live fire or hands-on target practice without live fire.

This course is designed to provide participants with the skills and capabilities required to assume the role of Incident Commander during a hazardous materials event. Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan Training (SWPPP) Overview - Construction - 8 Hours
Effective July 1, 2010, the New Permit SWRCB Order 2009-0009-DWQ adopted in September 2, 2009 will be
in effect! A Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) is required for all construction projects that disturb one acre or more of soil. This course is designed as an overview for the Superintendent Level employee. This course meets requirements for training issued by the Statewide General Storm Water Permit Associated with Construction Activities.
Traffic Control/Flagging Safety Training - 2-8 Hours
The purpose of this course is to review the applicable California and Federal requirements for the safe planning, installation and removal of traffic controls for construction and maintenance work zones. Trenching, Shoring & Excavation Competent Person Level - 8 Hours
The purpose of this training is to provide employees with information about the OSHA Excavation Standard. NOTE: A COMPETENT PERSON is required on every trenching & excavation jobsite. Hands-on Field Exercises will consist of two excavations that are pre-dug. The class will be divided into teams consisting of a competent person and his/her 4 member team. Two teams will simultaneously be working on shoring their respective trenches. Any additional students will stand by and observe and critique the shoring operation. Upon completion of shoring operations, the entire class will critique the work performed. Each member will have the opportunity to assume the role of the competent person. The excavation checklist will be the basis for scoring the students performance.

National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70E Safety Training - 4 Hours
The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70E is a comprehensive standard that establishes best electrical safety practices standards on how to protect electricians from electric arc flash and arc blast exposure and resulting potential injury and death. OSHA has referenced this electrical safety standard in numerous cases. In fact, many organizations have now designed an NFPA 70E Compliance Guide to help protect their electrical personnel from the hazards associated with arc flash.
Overhead Cranes & Rigging Safety Training - 8 Hours
This course is designed to teach the student to identify the various types of rigging equipment and safe rigging practices. Four-Wheel Drive Vehicles/Equipment - Special Operations Course - 16 Hours
This sixteen-hour course consists of six hours of lectures and ten hours of practical application on and off-road driving course. The lectures include off-road driving techniques, four-wheel drive systems, dynamics of winching, off-road tires and accessories, and vehicle dynamics. The practical application includes winching, performance driving, driving through streams, in sand, hill climbing, and over rough terrain. Each agency is required to furnish one four-wheel drive vehicle for each two students that attend.
Oxygen Enriched Environment Awareness Level Training - 2 Hours
Oxygen is essential to life. The air we breathe contains approximately 21% oxygen. Without oxygen we would die in a matter of minutes. We can breathe in a 50- 60% oxygen enriched atmosphere for several hours under medical care (Oxygen Therapy). It may be hard to believe but oxygen can be dangerous without knowing the associated hazards due to oxygen enriched environment. Every year several incidents are reported where workers have been injured by fire due to oxygen enriched clothing or atmosphere. Fires in these atmospheres start easily and are very intense, so people suffer very serious burns, which are often fatal.
Respirator Fit Testing Only - Hours vary according to number of students
Quantitative (PORTACOUNT) & Qualitative (BITREX) Fit Testing methods used.
Fit Testing procedures:
- Medical Clearance is required prior to fit testing.
- Students must bring respirators to class for fit testing.
- Students must be clean shaven prior to fit testing.
Average number of students per hour is 4.
Confined Space Awareness Level Training - 1 Hour
The goal of this course is to train the students to work safely around confined space areas. This awareness class is designed for employees whose job DOES NOT require confined space entry but who are exposed to confined spaces and must be aware of the hazards.
