Beach Cleanup

Twenty-five members of the ASSE Valley Coastal Chapter, made up of occupational safety, health and environmental practitioners from the San Fernando Valley area and friends, spent July 9 cleaning the beach with members of the California State Parks & Recreation Department staff.

"We cleaned up over 858 gallons of trash from the San Buenaventura Beach," ASSE member Steven Wilmes PHR, CPSI, said. "In just one two-hour walk on the beach, ASSE Valley Coastal Chapter members and friends picked up over 26 thirty-three gallon bags of trash made up mostly of cigarette butts, bottles and cans."
